We worked with Thierfelder Builders in regard to the remodel of our basement. As soon as we purchased our home we knew we wanted the basement, totally unfinished at time of purchase, to be converted into living space – including a family room with fireplace, wet bar, office, bedroom, full bath and sewing room as well as a couple of storage areas.
They consistently made themselves available to meet with us at a time of day convenient to our schedules. Even more importantly they both listened to our desires and ideas and contributed creative suggestions that achieved, in both form and function, a design that utilized our space effectively and met our needs in grand style.
During the construction phase we were most impressed with the various professionals contracted by TB for our remodel effort. Bob and Sue stayed on top of the process and kindly, patiently addressed any concerns/questions we raised.
The net result: we love to entertain family and friends in our lower level living area and consistently hear oohs and ahs from all who come downstairs. Without hesitation we are happy to provide the strongest recommendation for Thierfelder Builders. Should we ever need such services again, theirs will be the first number we dial.
The Thierfelders are professional, dedicated and thorough. From the beginning conceptual ideas through the completion of our home and now even after our home is completed they continue to provide excellent customer service. During the build they were available via email or in person whenever we had a quick question or needed a more detailed discussion. They were very flexible with meetings, always brought new ideas to the project and worked with very skilled people who actually built our home.

Most of our concerns and fears were addressed and answered during the initial meeting with Thierfelder Builders. Upon arriving, we were given a comprehensive outline of the building process including dates and deadlines. Thierfelder Builders walked us through the entire process step by step answering any questions or concerns we may have had, by the end of our first meeting we had a good understanding of what to expect.
Thierfelder’s professional knowledge, experience and flexible attitude was amazing, we felt very comfortable expressing our views and asking questions thorough out the entire process. They kept us informed of all scheduled work and cost variations, plus & minus, in a timely manner, met with us on nights and weekends to discus any and all changes or revisions we desired. We looked at all of the builders in the area and selected Bob and Sue because they listened to our questions and added to the experience, respecting our ideas and adding to them.

With any builder you must place a great deal of trust and after several meetings with Bob and Sue we felt very comfortable with our decision. I write this letter in recommendation of Thierfelder Builders as general contractor in the building of our new home in 2012. My wife and I had a good idea of what we wanted in our home and other contractors seemed to offer little more than variations of common plans.
Bob and Sue Thierfelder listened to what we were looking for and together we came up with a blueprint of exactly what we wanted. We sold our existing home in Cedarburg and decided to live in Florida during the construction of our new home. Before leaving for Florida we chose the siding, roofing, etc… for the new home. We left for Florida in December and construction started on our new home in February.
We were somewhat concerned about being in Florida during construction, but Sue and Bob’s innovative use of the internet kept us visually apprised of the progress. Their ability to coordinate and time the use of their sub-contractors kept our project on time and on budget. We never heard excuses as to why something wasn’t being done, but rather “It will be taken care of”.
From the use of materials to the placement of windows to taking advantage of the views, Bob and Sue’s suggestions helped turn our house plans into a true dream home for us.
When we got back from Florida in August and saw our almost completed home we were speechless. The Thierfelders’ professional experience and education in home construction really showed throughout the process making our dream home exceed even our high expectations.
